At the core of Student Life lives LEADERSHIP
The Student Life - Student Leadership Series (SLS)
is a redesigned 3-tiered co-curricular program focusing on identifying and
building student leaders through theory and pragmatic leadership training opportunities.
Tier 1: Student Leadership Academy (Summer)
Tier 2: Emerging Leaders Summit (Fall)
Tier 3: Student Leadership Symposium (Spring)
This opportunity is open to all MDC students regardless of experience or involvement in any student leadership role.
Summer
Student Leadership Academy
Focuses on offering introspective experiences, introduction to leadership and identifying leadership styles.
FALL
Emerging Leaders Summit
While applying our four-track system, this tier focuses on basic principles of implementing and maintaining a collaborative environment and begins to explore the importance of effective partnerships.
Spring
Student Leadership Symposium
Focuses on how to apply learned leadership and soft skills toward students' future careers and how to best market these skills for a successful and seamless transfer.
